SMART-MOLD: Precision Execution & Industrial Intelligence Platform

SMART-MOLD is an advanced execution and analytics platform for the plastic injection moulding industry. It acts as a bridge between your production planning and what actually happens on the shop floor. By correlating prescribed machine assignments with real-time sensor data, SMART-MOLD validates production accuracy, calculates OEE, and provides users with a fully customisable analytics engine.

The platform was developed within the EU-funded INCIRCULAR project, which supports smart solutions for the circular economy in the manufacturing industry.

Key Features

  • Work Order Execution & Management:
    Synchronisation with your ERP system. Display and execute work orders as planned. Manual control (start, pause, adjust) for real shop-floor conditions.
     
  • Sensor-to-Plan Correlation:
    Digital proof of production: the system compares planned injection runs with live sensor data. Continuous logging of temperatures, pressures and cycle counters for every work order.
     
  • Real-Time OEE:
    Availability: actual uptime vs. planned schedule. Performance: actual speed vs. planned cycles. Quality: correlation of sensor stability with manual production and scrap reporting.
  • Customisable Analytics:
    Every user can build their own dashboards and reports. Dynamic export and correlation of historical data with sensor trends. From technicians to management – everyone sees data in the format that suits them.
     
  • Smart Downtime Management: 
    Automatic detection of machine stoppages. Configurable engine: define and categorise causes (tool change, material shortage…) for root-cause analysis.
     
  • Alert Engine: 
    Logical rules for sensor inputs (e.g. “If pressure deviates by ±10% from target, send an alert”). Immediate response before non-conforming products are produced.
